born 1983 in Flagstaff, USA. LA-artist Nancy Lupo intentionally manipulates and combines different materials in her artistic practice. She explores the nature of everyday objects and highlights the existence of sculptures that already exist in their environment but often go unnoticed. Her installations and objects incorporate familiar objects such as furniture, dog bowls, and trash cans, shifting their perception and inviting a reevaluation of the objects they encounter. By challenging traditional sculpture, her works serve as "activators" that subvert the interplay between physical space and subjective perception. Her works have been shown internationally at venues like Neuer Kunstverein Wien, Vienna; Oxygen Biennial of Contemporary Arts, Tbilisi; MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Los Angeles; Sydney Gallery; Los Angeles Public Art Triennial, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; Visual Arts Center University of Texas, Austin; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; MAC Lyon; Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Atlanta Contemporary; Swiss Institute, New York; Los Angeles Public Library, Los Angeles and MoMA PS1, New York.
