Namedropping Kim Seob Boninsegni Verena Dengler f.marquespenteado Hella Gerlach Deanna Havas E'wao Kagoshima Justin Lieberman Marie Matusz Rebecca Morris Andreas Schulze David Weiss Namedropping brings together a number of artistic positions rooted in various forms of opposition. The directional attitude is one that is implemented through tools of criticism, irony and, at times, vulnerability. The artists equally celebrate the forms and subjects of their scrutiny. The exhibited works refect ethical, political and aesthetic concerns. And as much as they trace both referential and intuitive formal relationships, some inhabit a dodging or even protective stance, while others call these issues out by name. The premise that every system is inherently broken acts as an overarching umbrella to this exhibition. This doesn’t mean that these artists avoid the systems they occupy, but rather they engage with them directly. Curated by Tenzing Barshee
